How did Brooke Burke prepare to win Dancing With The Stars and regain her Sexy figure after Baby No. 1-2-3 and? How Did Susan Lucci and John O’Hurley get in shape for Dancing With The Stars and to perform against competition that was half their age? To enhance their performance their bottom line is Pilates the results they get.
Burke credits Pilates with carving out her killer abs with movements she calls “abdominal contouring activities.” She used to practice yoga every day, but for the past 5 years, she has done nothing but Pilates three times a week and cardio workouts three times a week. “It’s all about balance and an active lifestyle,” she says.
Burke is committed to Pilates, an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk.
“I’ve been doing Pilates for eight years. I actually started with my first pregnancy. I’m a big believer in staying fit during your pregnancy,”
“I know a lot of women are a little afraid to work their abs, or are afraid of core work, but I think it supports your back and I think it helps for an easier delivery and it makes us feel good,”
“The more fit you are during your pregnancy, the quicker you’re going to bounce back. I probably started up two weeks after delivery and I felt I could handle that.”
While she also enjoys swimming, her favorite cardio activity is walking with her children, who serve as weight resistance to add impact to Burke’s hikes. “I take a 2-mile walk in the hills, up and down, pushing and carrying more than 40 pounds,” she says. “It’s a great cardio workout, great for the hamstrings and toning.” “Being a mother is such an honorable role. It’s added a lot of value to my character.”
“Dancing With The Stars Celebrity Susan Lucci ( age 62 wow) “The Malibu Pilates™ Chair Program keeps me in the best shape of my life. It’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss.” —Susan Lucci”
Family Feud host and Dancing With The Stars alum John O’Hurley, 53, wife Lisa, 35, and their William Dylan. O’Hurley, who shed 20 pounds training for the show last summer, took up Pilates to boost his strength and flexibility.
It looks like Pilates enhanced Johns performance on and off the dance floor.

Kristi Yamaguchi Won Dancing With the Stars. To prep for the slinky-outfit-fest that is Dancing with the Stars, Yamaguchi focused on Pilates to enhance her performance and enabel her to be the best of the best!
She turned to Pilates, the strength and stretching method she first tried when she was 12 and in rehab after surgery. “The dancers with the San Francisco Ballet were using it, and since ballet and skating are similar in that you need flexibility and lean muscles, my doctor recommended it,” Yamaguchi explains.
Over the years, she added Pilates to her regimen. “It’s about building your core, getting it strong, because everything radiates from there. But I’ve found that you can use it to work all the muscles in your body. And since you’re not doing a lot of reps, you’re maintaining a lean look.”
You are looking good Kristi!
