Nigella Lawson (48 years old) gained weight while filming her Nigella Bites show. The English Muffin quickly lost it with the help of Pilates. Rachael and Martha also think Pilates is the special ingredient you need to make you just right
‘I ‘I like my food and I’m not going to diet so it has to be exercise for me,’ the mother-of-two said.
‘Everyone keeps asking me if I have lost weight but I haven’t.
‘I took up Pilates classes to help with my bad back some months ago and since I’ve been doing them, I’ve actually dropped a couple of dress sizes.’ I love Pilates.
Rachael Ray (age 40) is also working hard by exercising. She has a personal trainer that she works with, concentrating on lots of cardio and strength training.
Rachael also has a rigorous yoga and Pilates routine that she does every single day.
Susan Lucci ( age 62) appeared on Rachael Ray, where she told the audience her fitness secrets.
It’s not really news that she’s a petite and trim woman, but she works hard to maintain that incredible Pilates figure. She says during Dancing with the Stars, where she had practices throughout the week and two performances, her dance instructor encouraged her to eat 3,000 calories each day.
“I got to eat everything that wasn’t nailed down,” she said. The trade-off was that Lucci had to get into what might be the best shape of her life to compete.
She learned the dancer’s strength training tool – pilates. She’s still using it, and said she uses a Malibu Pilates Chair

She said this approach incorporates cardio with a traditional Pilates workout. She says you’ll be strengthening your core, as well as “lengthening, toning, sculpting really long, sexy lean muscles.”
‘Everyone keeps asking me if I have lost weight but I haven’t.
Martha Stewart
( age 67) is also a Pilates Buff she ”loves the Pilates Ring for strengthening thighs, arms and chest.
A yoga block, a Pilates Ring and a yoga strap come with me wherever I go, so I can at least get a bit of a workout when I’m on the road.”

The most “fundamentalistic” Pilates schools don’t normaly like to mix their own Pilates training methods with more modern Pilates concepts witch normally have a more strong cardio component in their training sessions. If loosing weight is one of your main goals than you should choose more updated Pilates Schools because they normally have cardio in their Pilates training.
